"A Seat at the Table"

I’ve written a lot about the creator economy as a business.

This one felt different.

A new resolution adopted by the Nevada State AFL-CIO formally supports the right of sex workers and erotic service providers—including online content creators—to organize and collectively bargain.

That matters.

Because this industry has spent years celebrating independence while quietly leaving creators to deal with almost everything alone.

A deleted account.
An unpaid agency balance.
A bad contract.
A payment freeze.
A safety issue.
A likeness dispute.

Most creators are expected to figure it out themselves.

So when a major labor institution says sex workers belong in the labor conversation, I think we should pay attention.
