The business happens at the expo.
But the community happens after dark.
When a press release for the Netstars.TV Party landed in my inbox, I initially saw exactly what you'd expect: Berlin. VENUS weekend. 300+ creators and industry insiders. DJs. Live entertainment. Awards.
Then I realized the party wasn't really the story.
The room was.
The creator economy has become incredibly good at connecting people through screens—and surprisingly bad at giving those same people places to actually belong.
A creator can have 500,000 followers and still not have five people they can call when their reach collapses, a platform changes its rules, a contract feels wrong, or they simply need advice from someone who understands this strange profession.
That's why events like this matter.
For a few days in Berlin, usernames become people. DMs become conversations. Competitors become colleagues. Someone you've followed for three years is suddenly standing three feet away.
And somewhere between the expo booth and the afterparty, a photographer gets recommended. A collaboration starts. A platform hears a problem. Someone finds a mentor. Two strangers become friends.
The adult creator economy doesn't just need more platforms.
It needs more rooms.
My latest for Only Fans Insider Magazine explores why the Netstars.TV Party during VENUS Berlin may tell us something much bigger about what this industry needs to become a real professional ecosystem.
